More Drama in the Seelye House!!!!!

Well, the day started off great with Shawn 's company being closed for the ice day, but quickly turned into more. We decided to head to Plano around noon today in Shawn's truck for him to clean my parent's house since he was off. For those of you who don't know....we've been cleaning my parent's house our entire marriage for extra money and to help them out since my mom cannot clean due to her arthritis. He's had to clean by himself the last 2 times since I cannot help him. Anyway, there was an unsanded ice patch underneath 75 on Bethany in Allen and a lady 2 cars ahead of us got stuck on it and couldn't move, so the lady directly in front of us hit her and then we slid into that lady with nowhere to go. It really was a no impact crash, but it did front end bumper damage to Shawn's truck, and he will also need a new brush guard. The pain is that the police officer said it was a no fault accident due to the ice, so everyone is individually responsible. So, there's our $250 deductible and an accident on our record...we think. Should know more tomorrow after speaking with State Farm. Thankfully we're fine, but we can't get his truck fixed until we get a van which we weren't wanting to do since I'm on bedrest. Savannah also woke up with a goopy eye, so we took her to the doctor this afternoon, and she has pink eye for the first time. Not sure where she picked that up from, but we're all hoping we don't get it. Have drops to put in for 5 days. Then, Pop took me to the hospital for my Rhogam shot. Whew! What a day! We've had enough excitement around here to last us a lifetime, but we know it's just beginning when these precious babies arrive! We know through all of this that the Lord is still in control, and He has a plan for us and everything will work out just fine! Thanks for your prayers for the babies, Savannah's eye, Shawn's truck, and for us to find a van.

Dietician

Well, it's not too bad. They want me to eat 3 meals and 3 snacks per day which will be hard since I'm not hungry most of the time. I really can have what I want as long as I measure and log it. I just have to be more conscious of what I put in my body. I do have a monitor that I have to use to check my blood sugar first thing in the morning and 2 hours after each meal per day--small prick on the finger. It's really more of a pain than anything, but thankfully it will just be for a few short weeks. Got my 2nd steroid shot today--not sleeping and a little naseus, but okay. I will get the Rhogam shot on Thursday.

Baby Shower-27 weeks!

My good friends, Danna, Kim, Nicki, and Amy hosted a baby shower on Sat. for me at Amy's beautiful home in Allen. They did a super job from the yummy cake to delicious food, to funny diaper game to organization. I had a wonderful time wearing "real" maternity clothes and getting out of my house to talk with adults and wear make-up. I also got lots of cute clothes for the babies and lots of stuff I need. Thank you everyone for a spectacular day!

Baby Update!

Had my long doctor's appt. this morning with Dr. Herzog. Highlights in a nutshell....babies are super, cervix is long at 3.9, iron is low at 10.7, blood was taken to type it and send to the lab for my Rhogam shot later this week, had a steroid shot in my hip and will have another one tomorrow morning to help develop the babies lungs, and lastly, glucose test revealed that I have gestational diabetes. I have to see a dietician at the hospital tomorrow morning after my shot for more info. and to get dietary recommendations. Dr. Herzog said they will likely cut my carbs in half. Ugh! So, not only do I get to continue bedrest, now I have to modify my diet!!!!! I am not really surprised because I have gained weight, can't exercise, and can't take the Metformin I usually take because of my Endometriosis which helps regulate my blood sugar. Good news....this will go away as soon as I give birth. Doctor said he will take the babies at 35 weeks probably depending on how my body is doing if they don't decide to come early. I will probably post tomorrow after I see the dietician.

Dentist Update!

Savannah went back to the dentist today for a follow-up on her lower and upper teeth following the car accident and sippy cup trauma from about a year ago. Thankfully, all bottom teeth have tightened back up and the x-rays showed no visible damage or decay. The upper teeth are showing a little root dissolving prematurely from the trauma, but there is no treatment recommended. She will just probably lose her upper teeth a bit sooner than expected and may be missing teeth longer before the adult teeth are ready to come in. My sweet little snaggletooth! She will go back to the dentist for her first official teeth cleaning and more x-rays in June when she turns 3!

Baby Update!

Went back to Dr. Albert, Perinatologist, this morning and all continues to be well. Amniotic fluid is good and cervix is 3.2 from 3.4 last time which is actually still in the "normal" range. All 3 babies are active and growing appropriately, 50-70% tile. Cameron has changed from breech back to head down and Parker and Katelyn remain in the same position. Cameron weighs 2 lbs. 6 oz., Parker is still our little peanut at 2 lbs. 4 oz., and Katelyn continues to be the biggest at 2 lbs. 8 oz. I have to continue on strict bedrest at home keeping the pressure and weight off of my cervix. Believe me....bedrest is hard, but I am so thankful it is at home and not in the hospital. A big "thank you" to all of you who have brought food, books, magazines, watched Savannah, called, and emailed. We appreciate it so much and love you all! Thanks for your continued prayers. I'll go back to Dr. Herzog next Monday. Enjoy a picture of Parker...he's looking right at you with his little eyes, nose, and mouth toward the camera.

Zebra on the Loose!

I just couldn't resist snapping this picture of our cute little Savannah zebra before church Sunday morning! I'll be so sad when she won't let me dress her any more!

Savannah's Last Little Gym Class for Now!!!

Gram and Pop took Savannah to her last Little Gym class yesterday, and it was show day. She had so much fun! Enjoy a few pictures that Gram took. We hope to go back to LG after the babies are born....maybe wishful thinking!!!!

Savannah's Haircut!

Gram and Pop graciously took Savannah to Cool Cuts for Kids yesterday in Allen to get her hair cut. The lady did a great job trimming her bangs and taking about 1 inch off the back and even braided the sides. Thanks Gram and Pop! She looks so cute!

Quick Baby Update!

All babies have good heartbeats and are very active. Cameron has been head down my entire pregnancy, but now he and Katelyn are both breech and Parker is sort of "c" shaped transverse in the middle. Amniotic fluid is great for all 3 babies and my iron has actually come up to 11.4. Yahoo! My cervix has elongated a little bit from 3.4 to 4.0 which is also great. I go back to Dr. Albert on Monday morning for my next cervix check and baby measurement, and then back to Dr. Herzog on Mon., Jan. 26th for my glucose test, Rhogam shot since I'm 0- blood, and steroid shots to start developing the babies' lungs should they decide to come early. They will schedule my C-section when I'm 34 weeks along for 36 weeks if all is well! Even though I'm doing well, I still have to continue bedrest for the rest of the way simply because I'm carrying 3 babies. The doctor said to be thankful because most triplet moms were in the hospital by this point! Whew! Thanks for your prayers and please continue them.

Apparently Pregnancy is Contagious!!!

Savannah took the initiative to stuff her Elmo shirt from Aunt Marcy with a towel and then proudly announced to us that she was pregnant with triplets!!! Mommy and daddy laughed so hard...we cried! Enjoy the pictures daddy snapped!

Bathing Bubble Bath Beauty!!!

Enjoy a picture of Miss Savannah with extra bubbles in the tub and being silly with daddy during her bath the other night!

An Eventful Day!

It started at 3:40 a.m. with Savannah waking me up abruptly crying and telling me her left ear hurt and asking if it was time to get up yet! She laid in bed with me for a little bit, and then, thankfully, I was able to put her back to bed and she slept until 7:15 when she came in again crying about her ear. Shawn took her to the CareNow clinic and sure enough, she has her very first ear infection and is on an antibiotic for 10 days for the very first time in her life! Poor Savannah! She also cried when she couldn't put on her church clothes and go to church! After that excitement, Gram and Pop came over to take care of sick Savannah while Shawn took me to L&D at Plano Presbyterian Hospital for monitoring for what I thought was contractions over the past few days and nights. Thankfully, all 3 babies are fine, and it is a false alarm. No contractions or UTI...just irritable uterus for whatever reason. They want me to continue strict bedrest and increase my water intake! Ugh....I'm already wearing out a path to the bathroom! Poor Shawn.....his day was spent missing football games taking his favorite girls to the doctor! Hopefully tomorrow will be more "normal" and less eventful! Praise God that I am NOT having contractions and that the babies are fine. Thank you for your prayers. I will go back to Dr. Herzog on Tuesday afternoon for another baby/cervical length check and evaluation.

Freedom is Gone....Bedrest is Here!!!!

Well, the inevitable has happened.....I'm on official house bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy which can be 11 weeks total if the babies decide to stay in my belly that long! I am not a very good bedrest patient for sure, but I'm committed to doing what's best for these precious babies. I'm sure I will be so sick of my bed, couch, and recliner in no time, but on the bright side of things......I'll get out once a week for the doctor! I knew this day would come, but you're never quite prepared for it! I am so thankful that all the babies are healthy and growing appropriately...Cameron is 1 lb. 13 oz., Parker is 1 lb. 12 oz, and Katelyn is 1 lb. 15 oz. I'm sure Shawn will not enjoy being Mr. Mom, but this too shall pass! Savannah and I should get some good snuggle and book time in for sure every day. Please continue to pray for the health and growth of these babies, and that they will stay in my belly for many more weeks to come.
